Production and storage complex including silo tower

For SCHÄFER KALK, a manufacturer and bottler of lime products for the food and pharmaceutical industries, we built a state-of-the-art production and storage complex in a very small space directly next to the quarry - without interrupting operations. And under great challenges: Above all, the construction on the already almost exhausted construction site near the quarry's demolition edge was logistically demanding; a heavy-duty bypass on supports was built especially for this purpose.

The core of the project was the construction of the “silo tower”; a 20 meter high process building with 4 intermediate levels and a concrete ceiling 20 meters high, including a façade with external stairs, strip lighting, doors and ventilation ducts.

On top of this and embedded in the concrete ceiling, ten 20-metre-high silos were built on site, which are operated at a level height of around 40 meters.

In addition, a packing and bagging hall including facades will be assembled in two further construction phases.
