New Steel Hall Construction as Plant Extension
The Ford plant in Cologne needed another hall - and we were entrusted with the steel structure for the building: a total of 1,050 tons of steel for the structure, which spans an area of 14,000 square metres. We manufactured, supplied and installed the entire hall structure as well as seven roof-mounted ventilation platforms.
The roof-mounted ventilation units each consist of a self-supporting steel platform structure that rests directly on the building supports in the axis grids. The weatherproof ventilation units are installed here, with an approx. 1.5 meter wide walkway around the units for maintenance purposes. Trapezoidal steel sheets were used as the roof shell.
