Every year after Christmas, CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER donates to a good cause. This year, 5,700 euros will go to the so-called "Förderverein" of the St. Georg Clinic in Leipzig.
Managing Director Rolf Heinecke and the Managing Ddirectors of the two Leipzig C + P subsidiaries, Michael Steeger and Marcel Westphal, visited the association at its headquarters on the clinic premises and presented the symbolic check. In the presence of the Managing Director of the clinic, Dr. Iris Minde, the chairman of the association, Prof. Dr. Arnd-Oliver Schäfer was happy to receive the donation. The association will discuss the use of the funds at its next board meeting, but it already has specific projects in its sights, explained Prof. Schäfer the further procedure.
“In the construction industry, especially in industrial construction, we can currently feel that we are in relatively safe waters, even after two years of the pandemic. It is therefore good for us to broaden our horizons and support those who work under more limited conditions," says Managing Director Rolf Heinecke. "And the limitations of the healthcare system are particularly noticeable right now," he adds.
The purpose of the association is to promote public health, science and research as well as education and training in Leipzig. Last but not least, hospital projects are supported. The needs of patients and their relatives are often neglected in cost-optimized medical care, and there is a great need for support here. "A large part of the donation could be used for additional music and sports therapies in the interdisciplinary oncological center of the clinic," explained Prof. Schäfer.
A recipient in Leipzig was explicitly sought for this year's C + P donation. Leipzig has been a C + P location since 2000. A little over a year ago, the Leipzig branch found a new home on Walter-Köhn-Strasse near the exhibition center. Former Freiberg colleagues have moved in and the presence of C + P in Saxony's metropolis has gained even more importance. From Leipzig, C + P implements, among other things, turnkey industrial construction projects or steel construction projects, such as last year's nine steel bridges for the stadium expansion at RB Leipzig.
