Apprenticeship in steel construction

Apprenticeship as a construction mechanic at C + P in Breidenbach

Training in steel construction

Hi, I'm Oleksandr, 19 years old. I'm training to be a construction mechanic at CHRISTMANN + PFEIFER, currently in my second year of training.

How did I get here? I originally come from the Ukraine and then completed my secondary school certificate here. At some point, I helped my neighbor at work. I think he thought I was quite talented in terms of craftsmanship and together we thought about what profession would suit me. I've always liked metal and welding. My neighbor knows a lot about the industry in the region and gave me the idea of applying to C + P. And that's how it all began.

Getting started: Learning the basics at the C + P training center

I spent the first year learning the basics of metalworking at the C + P training center. I'm now actively involved in our steel construction production, currently welding and filing railings for an industrial plant and preparing them for loading. It's fun, there's always enough work and I think my supervisor is great. At the same time, of course, I continue to go to vocational school to learn the theoretical aspects of the job.

The apprenticeship will last a total of 3.5 years, so there's still a lot for me to learn, including language skills of course. I think the apprenticeship is a good basis for my future career, I still have a lot of plans!
